This Week's Bright Spots

Because it turns out that saving your change can pay off. Date night here we come!

2. This mantle staging. 

Because the subtle color change from a painted wall suddenly ties it all together. 

3. This granola bar.

Because I bought a few things to try out as my extra 300 calories each day, and these are my favorite. They also happen to taste just like my favorite Girl Scout cookies, Caramel Delights. I know they are also called Samoas, but they were Caramel Delights when I sold them, and Caramel Delights they will always be to me. 

4. This painting progress.

Because I am this close to finishing the trickiest part in the house.

Because he lives for this spot in our bedroom window.

This Week's Bright Spots

1. This room

Because even though it looks bad, it means things are happening.

2. This toilet paper.

Because not only did the cat chew it up this time, he also managed to get it soaking wet. Oh, and leave it in the middle of the dining room. 

3. This setup. 

Because it means that the yoga has finally started and it's great!

4. This corner of the stairs. 

Because I finally get to paint the house after waiting for almost a year. And yes, I'm using low VOC paint. 

5. This green backyard. 

Because the upside of an entire week of rain is lush, green grass. Also, our backyard is not this perfect, I just shot around all of the current in-progress projects.

A good week, overall. I'm glad it's spring!

This week's bright spots.

It's been a rough week. 24 hours of a broken furnace when it's -13 degrees outside (that's not including wind chill). Two, count them: two, migraines. The inevitable come down after an incredible conference over the weekend.

But there were some bright, little things this week. Here they are.

1. These prayer requests. 

Because the IF:gathering was, in a word, transformational, and asking for prayer (and participating in prayer) was a big release.

This week had plenty of bright. It was hard to pick my top five, but I did my best!

Because playtime is the best medicine for cabin fever.

This week included many bright spots, but here are my top five.

1. This beautiful bit of greenery.

Because when snow's been on the ground for a month straight you start to miss that vibrant green of fresh leaves. We fix this by buying big bunches of parsley, which we use a lot in our cooking anyway. It's a cheap and practical way to bring a beautiful pop of green into the house!

This has been a pretty down week in general, but there were some bright moments dotted along it. In no particular order . . .
